is the final marching rehearsal before the U of I. As such, we will have our traditional “Fill the Stands” night.
We’d like as many people as possible to come out and support the Marching Panthers in their final rehearsal before the
U of I!!!
Friday, October
12th
There are two events on this day.
First, the band will play at 1:00 pm for the Five Points Washington ribbon cutting ceremony. In the evening, there will
be a home football game vs East Peoria. After their performance, we will be loading the uniform
and equipment trailers.
Saturday, October
13th
U
of I!!! Traditionally, we have set up the tailgate in the parking lot west of the Assembly Hall. The parking lot is located
between Kirby on the north, St. Mary’s Road on the south and First Street
to the east. The tail gate will be at lunchtime (11:00 am), not dinner time. This
page will take you to a map and directions.
All
parents, family, and alumni are invited to have lunch at the tailgate. This meal is just not for students - it's for everyone.
The
University continues to remodel Memorial Stadium. They are currently working on the west bleachers, which is the direction
the field competition usually faces and where we sit. From what we understand, the competition will face the east side of
the stadium this year. The bands will enter from the south or “the horseshoe”. We will sit in section M of the
east bleachers (in the upper section).
Help!!! - We can still use 5 additional chaperones
for U of I. If you can help, please contact Deb Burns at Drhcmfam@aol.com.
Monday, October
15th
Marching Panthers recording session
in the West Gym at 8:45 pm. This will follow the chorus concert at Five Points Washington at 7:00 pm.
Friday, October

This is the final home regular
season football game vs Rock Island. It is also Senior Recognition
Night during half time of the football game. In addition to performing a number of selections during half-time, the band will
perform the full marching show after the football game.
