The Marching Panthers of Washington Community High School concluded their competitive marching season by competing in
the Illini Marching Band Festival on Saturday, October 15th at the University of Illinois. The band, under
the direction of Jim Tallman and Craig Fitzpatrick, competed in Class A against a highly competitive slate of bands from throughout
the state of Illinois. The Marching Panthers had their best showing ever by
placing in both the parade and field portions of the competition. In the parade,
the band received First Place overall, with their Drum Majors and Auxiliary both
placing second. In the field portion the Marching Panthers placed third,
with the Percussion placing second and the Auxiliary placing third.
